Important Reminders
As summer approaches and the weather warms up,
the Saddle Creek Community Services Board wants to remind you of a few
items that all residents of Saddle Creek should know.
1. WETLANDS: Please stay out of the wetlands or wildlife areas. These
are the areas designated by the green tipped stakes and/or the posted
signs saying “Environmental Area.” Some wetlands/wildlife areas abut
residential lots. These areas are restricted by our use permit and the
Saddle Creek Community Services District is the agency charged with
enforcing this use. No person or pet should go into those areas.
Continued violation could result in revocation of our permit – which
means NO golf course. So please stay out of the protected areas. If you
have a question as to whether such areas are adjacent to your lot please
contact Greg Hebard, the CSD Site Manager, at 785.0100.
2. MOSQUITOES: We will continue to spray for mosquitoes through our
Vector Control District - the only one in Calaveras County. We have
already placed larvacide for 10 of the 11 varieties of mosquitoes that
live in our district and that should control those mosquitoes. The 11th
variety requires spraying and this spraying, as in years past, is done
every Thursday night throughout the summer to help control these pests.
We do use a spray that is non-harmful to humans and pets but you should
close your windows and doors when you hear the sprayer approach. Should
you need assistance, want additional spraying for a special event, or
have questions contact Greg Hebard, the CSD Site Manager, at 785.0100.
3. PRIVACY GATE ENTRY: The gates are closed from 5 pm on Friday
through the weekend until 6 am on Monday and from 5 pm to 6 am Monday
through Friday. An attendant is available from 5 pm - 11 pm Monday
through Friday and 6 am through 11 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Guests
arriving past the 11:00 pm hour can call you on the gate house phone. By
pressing #9 on your phone touch pad, the gate will open to allow them
entry.
If you have guests arriving during the time an attendant is on duty,
make sure the gate attendant has the name of your guests by calling and
informing them of the visit. The phone number is 785.8700 - OR, you can
fill out a guest form for either
permanent or
temporary guests.
If your guests are not on your guest list and you have not called the
attendant to notify them of their arrival and you are not at home when
the attendant calls you for verification when your guests arrive, they
will not be allowed entrance.
Summer Traffic Safety
Warmer weather is here and with it the District will
experience increases in pedestrian, bicycle and motor vehicle traffic.
Please join with the Board of Directors in making sure that all of
those who are on our streets and sidewalks can enjoy them safely. Be
watchful for your neighbors, their pets, and children at play. Stay
within the posted speed limits throughout the community and please drive
safely. Also, please remember that under California Law and CSD
Ordinance, golf carts are only to be driven by licensed drivers.
The Saddle Creek CSD Board of Directors thanks you for your
cooperation and support in keeping our community safe and accident free.
Propane Service
Recently, several questions have arisen regarding the cost of the
propane delivered to the residents of Saddle Creek. The contract for
propane services at Saddle Creek is between Castle & Cooke and J.S. West
and therefore the Saddle Creek Community Service District has no
authority in this matter, at all. As a service to our community,
however, we are posting copies of Castle & Cooke Vice President &
Division Manager, Dave Haley's letter of December 18, 2007 and J.S. West
General Manager, Dana Mayo's letter of January 8, 2008.

Mayo's letter
Questions or concerns regarding propane service or rates should be
emailed to Mr. Haley and/or
to Mr. Mayo.
